Part of the journey is the end; says Tony Stark AKA Iron Man during one of the many fabulous moments of this flick which in an embodiment of the legendary Stan Lee’s work over the years.

It’s just plain heart breaking that the journey has to end.

What started as a mission to protect Earth in 2008, 21 films and 11 years later, it is more so about restoring Earth to its glory. And for that, our incredible heroes will do Whatever It Takes. That’s pretty much the premise of the film.

After the events of Avengers – Infinity War, Thanos literally wipes 50 pc of all living forms giving room for life to thrive on Earth. The follow up movies; Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel form a very integral and direct part of the plot of Endgame.

Without much ado, at the outset; Endgame totally nails the movie watching experience. Every little aspect about movie making is stupendously handled. The frequent MCU screen writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have written a script which is convoluted yet so simplified that it works like clockwork; even with a HUGE ensemble. They have delivered a story which is bang on the buck; directed beautifully by Joe and Anthony Russo (Directors of 3 previous MCU films).

If you remember all the 21 films of the MCU along with the post credits, Endgame will make you cry. The nitty-gritties, the characters, their insecurities, the emotions, their vulnerabilities, their worst fears, the HUMAN side of it all are in play here and they work marvellously in sync with all the characters to give us a hell of a movie. Talking more about the movie as such, this is team work at its best. The screenwriters, directors, CGI guys have hit it out of the park. The effects are so astute and astounding that it will make you feel giddy in parts. Alan Silvestri and Pinar Toprak deliver a master background score which includes tunes from all earlier movies and it is glorious.

The screenplay could have been a tad faster but the story needed to be told and to handle such a huge ensemble cast needs run time. So no love lost there. The build up is nice and slow and once it is BUILT up, boy oh boy, it is gorgeous. This has to be the 1st MCU film where we get to see acting chops of the many talented actors. Chris Hemsworth’s comic timing really impressed me apart from the camaraderie of Rocket and himself. The best part of the movie is that the characters keep their authenticity intact. Hulk s Hulk, just a tad bit civilised. Rocket is Rocket, even in defeat. All the others are themselves at their best and really, there is nothing to botch it even a wee bit.

Lastly, the climax. It is quite poetic and feels very much climactic. It’s beautiful the way emotions are infused in the glorious action sequences. And when the objective is achieved, it will give you the goose bumps. You’ll end up having tears in your eyes (A first for me). That’s endgame for you; One big step towards normalcy for the heroes and the Earth. Also, with the way the heroes are portrayed, it gives a slight insight into the future of Phase 4 MCU (It will definitely have the girls calling the shots; Captain Marvel, Valkyrie, Black Widow and so many more)

With this, a labour of 11 years has come to an end and it is illustrious, triumphant and yet heart wrenching. It broke my heart, the end of this journey. I had promised myself to not include even a little part of the plot and not to include any spoiler at all. So, enjoy the movie in all its glory. And for the love of God, watch this one in IMAX. Trust me, it is every penny worth it. Watch it even if it’s not.
